Lincoln Center Stage
Under an exclusive partnership with Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and continuing Holland America Line’s commitment to live classical music, Lincoln Center Stage will be a new venue hosting a chamber music ensemble. Multiple performances will be scheduled every evening as well as afternoon recitals on sea days.
Besides on Koningsdam, Lincoln Center Stage will make its way onboard Eurodam in January 2016 and Oosterdam in April 2016, with additional ships set to be included in the future.
Also part of Music Walk will be Billboard Onboard, another new venue bringing the famed Billboard music charts to life with dueling pianos, a guitar and DJ cycling through live performances of hit music accented by the songs’ history. The interactive venue invites guests to sing along and play along with music trivia displayed onscreen.
“Our guests love music that spans all genres, and Billboard Onboard is the perfect way to showcase a wide range of popular hits under one roof,” said Orlando Ashford, president of Holland America Line. “We’re thrilled to partner with Billboard to debut a venue that will cater to all ages and nationalities.”
B.B. King’s Blues Club
Already a favorite onboard seven other Holland America Line ships, B.B. King’s Blues Club will reprise its popularity on Koningsdam in the ship’s expanded two-deck Queen’s Lounge. The Music Walk here will jazz things up six night a week with an eight-piece band consisting of two vocalists and rhythm and horn sections.
The Queen’s Lounge will also be transformed with a Memphis look and images of B.B. King himself while the club serves drinks inspired by the legendary musician. The menu will include specialty cocktails such as rum-based Lucille and Rock Me Baby.
As rendered in the header above, the Koningsdam‘s main theater – World Stage – will also innovate with a new in-the-round stage and seating configuration and immersive two-deck tall, 270-degree LED screen surrounds. The theater can even be reconfigured into a more traditional proscenium arrangement. The World Stage will highlight five new production shows, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies.
Koningsdam is set to launch in April 2016. For more information, visit Holland America Line‘s website here.
