Today, Holland America Line released the first peek into their newest ship, ms Koningsdam, which is to be the first ship in the new Pinnacle Class.
ms Koningsdam, the flagship of the Pinnacle Class, will be larger than previous Holland America Line ships, but will still offer an intimate, mid-sized ship experience. According to Holland America Line, ms Koningsdam will feature a “contemporary styling in perfect harmony with the line’s renowned classic elegance.”
In a video released this morning (above), Holland America Line guests are offered a peak into the new ship’s iconic Holland America spaces, including the central atrium, the Queen’s Lounge, the Pinnacle Grill, and staterooms. The new spaces retain the intimate and cozy atmosphere of ships before, yet offer a modern and contemporary design.
The interior design of the ship, envisioned by design firm Tihany, focuses on showcasing the feeling and beauty of musical instruments. The unique approach is most noticeable in the central atrium’s arches, which are designed to evoke the image of a string quartet.
