Ultra-luxury line Silversea has launched a new micro-site designed to introduce their forthcoming flagship, the 596-guest Silver Muse, to cruisers around the world. It’s also the first chance that most of us will have to see renderings of the forthcoming ship’s accommodations and select dining venues.
“We’re thrilled to announce more detailed features of our new flagship,” said Kristian Anderson, Silversea’s senior vice president and general manager for the Americas. “Our beautiful new site utilizes the latest technology to bring to life the state-of-the-art design and luxe, modern amenities of Silver Muse. We are sure that many discerning travelers will love it, and will be eager to learn more about this highly anticipated new addition to our ocean fleet.”
Although similar in exterior design to the 540-guest Silver Spirit that first set sail in the winter of 2009, Silver Muse has some notable design differences. Her bow has been redesigned and elongated, and the single aft funnel found aboard Silver Spirit has been split into two funnel uptakes located on the port and starboard side of the funnel casing superstructure to give her a yacht-like appearance.
If you look closely, you’ll also notice that a total of four decks of balcony suites can be found underneath the midship pool deck, which has been raised up a single deck to come flush with the height of the ship’s navigation bridge. Silver Muse’s forward superstructure remains largely unchanged from that of the Silver Spirit, with seven decks of balcony suites.
This creative engineering gives Silver Muse a somewhat more balanced profile than the Silver Spirit, though we do miss the latter’s cool, swept-back bow design.
