Upcoming Norwegian Escape’s Hull Art Revealed

March 13, 2014 by Jason Leppert

Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled the signature hull art for its latest vessel – the upcoming Norwegian Escape. Famed marine wildlife artist and conservationist, Guy Harvey will apply his signature and latest design to the 1,065 foot steel canvas. The new cruise ship will be a larger version of its Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway predecessors at 163,000 gross tons.

“I am deeply honored to be asked by Norwegian to paint the hull of the newest and largest ship in their fleet,” said Harvey. “The larger than life paintings of popular but endangered marine creatures in the Caribbean will heighten public awareness about marine life. The large scale mural demonstrates the concern and respect that Norwegian and I have for the marine environment through which this ship will travel over the years.”

The Norwegian Escape is slated for launch in October 2015, and will homeport year-round from Miami, Florida along with the newly introduced Norwegian Getaway. Beginning in November of 2015, the Escape will depart on roundtrip 7-day Eastern Caribbean sailings, and the Getaway will cover the Western Caribbean with its own 7-day cruises.

Additional details about the new Norwegian Escape will be released in the near future. To learn more, click here to visit Norwegian Cruise Line‘s website.
